On Friday, November 4, golfers throughout Huntsville and the surrounding area will meet at the Links at Redstone for a chance to win some great prizes and support an amazing local charity, the Kids to Love Foundation. Among these prizes is the chance to win a new 2012 Cadillac donated by Bentley Automotive Group, a Kids to Love Golf Invitational sponsor. The new Cadillac will be awarded to the winner of the Hole-In-One contest.
Since 2004, the Kids to Love Foundation has directly impacted the lives of more than 100,000 foster children through its wide variety of outreach programs and the undying dedication of its founder, Lee Marshall, a former foster and adopted child herself.
“Anytime we can do anything for Kids to Love, we just love to partner up with Lee and the great things she’s done in the community,” said Tony Repucci, general manager of Bentley Automotive and long-time supporter of the Kids to Love Foundation.
In addition to supporting the overall goals of the foundation by raising essential funds, the First Annual Kids to Love Golf Invitational will support the foundation’s Christmas for the Kids program, which provides toys, clothes and other gifts to more than 2,000 area foster children. All Golf Invitational participants are encouraged to bring a gift to donate. The Kids to Love Foundation also offers programs such as the See Meth Stop Tip Line, School Supply Drive, Meth Orphans, and, of course, Finding Forever Families.
The First Annual Kids to Love Golf Tournament will begin at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start. Prizes will be awarded for longest drive (front and back), closest to pin (front and back) and for the Hole-In-One contest.
The National Automotive Sampling System estimates that rear collisions account for up to 28 percent of approximately 6 million police-reported incidents that occur annually. To avoid these and similar incidents, GMC has developed the industry’s first single-camera crash avoidance system. Prince GMC, a South Georgia GMC dealership, is proud to announce that this innovative crash avoidance system is available on 2012 GMC Terrain models.
“GM is committed to providing protection before, during and after a crash, but the best scenario is to avoid a collision in the first place, and this technology is designed to assist drivers for that purpose,” said Gay Kent, GM executive director of Vehicle Safety and Crashworthiness.
This camera-based collision alert system uses a high-resolution digital camera mounted on the windshield in front of the vehicle’s rearview mirror and forward collision warning software to ensure the safety of drivers and passengers. The system is programmed to recognize shapes of vehicles and lane markings. Using audible technology, the system warns drivers if they are following another vehicle too closely, when a collision is imminent, or if the driver departs a lane without signaling.
Additionally, the system uses color-coded warnings such as green “vehicle ahead” and “lanes detected” icons, red “forward collision alert” icons, and amber “lane departure warning icons” along with warning chimes. Furthermore, if a collision is deemed imminent, the vehicle’s brakes are pre-charged to help drivers brake as quickly and safely as possible.
This intuitive crash avoidance system is a major step forward in helping drivers maintain maximum safety not only for themselves but other drivers. It is also especially helpful in poor driving conditions such as night-time driving, snowy conditions, and rain.

As gas prices continue to rise, so does the popularity of small cars. To ensure that drivers are safe in these compact vehicles, auto makers are equipping these vehicles with advanced safety features and more secure designs. Bentley Chevrolet, a Florence Chevrolet dealership, is proud to announce that the all-new 2012 Chevrolet Sonic was recently named a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
In addition to incredible safety performance, the 2012 Chevrolet Sonic comes with a comfortable cabin, plenty of storage spaces, standard OnStar, auxiliary audio jack, and much more. A variety of options are also available on this cleverly designed compact car, such as steering-wheel-mounted audio controls, Bluetooth and iPod compatibility, heated front seats, foglamps, and a remote vehicle starter package. Plus, this fun-to-drive subcompact achieves up to 35 mpg highway.
The Chevrolet Sonic joins five other small cars chosen by the IIHS. To be named a Top Safety Pick by the IIHS, vehicles must receive a top rating of “Good” in front, side, and rear collisions as well as rollover tests. IIHS Top Safety Pick’s must also come standard equipped with electronic stability control.

Toyota has been one of the most trusted auto manufacturers for decades. With the introduction of the newly redesigned 2012 Toyota Camry and an incredibly strong vehicle lineup, the auto manufacturer is stronger than ever and ready to take on any challengers. With this in mind, Vehix decided to conduct a comparison of the automaker’s models to see which vehicles truly shined. Del Toyota, a Pennsylvania Toyota dealership, is proud to announce that all six vehicles chosen can be found at their Thorndale Toyota showroom.
Vehix testers started with the most popular body design—the sedan. Rather than choosing the perennial favorite Toyota Camry, Vehix testers chose the oft-forgotten Toyota Avalon based on its incredible roominess, spacious trunk, generous fuel economy, notable reliability, and exceptional safety. In fact, the Toyota Avalon was actually chosen as an IIHS Top Safety Pick. Like the Toyota Avalon, the Toyota Highlander was also chosen for its excellent safety performance (an IIHS Top Safety Pick as well) and reliability. Vehix testers were also impressed with the versatility of this vehicle, available with owner’s choice of a four cylinder, six cylinder, or hybrid engine. Of course, like any good crossover SUV, the Toyota Highlander offers plenty of space.
Naturally, no review of the Toyota lineup would be complete without the Toyota Prius. Vehix describes it as “the undisputed heavyweight mileage champion” thanks to its consistent 50 mpg fuel economy. Plus, this hybrid vehicle is reliable, safe, and even roomier than previous generations. For families that prefer the comfort of a minivan, Vehix chose the Toyota Sienna as the undisputable winner thanks to its one-of-a-kind all-wheel drive and sharp new redesign. Vehicle testers were also impressed with the minivan’s entertainment additions as well as safety and reliability performance.
In terms of trucks, Vehix testers chose the Toyota Tundra, noting that it is the only truck (aside from the Ford F-150) to be named an IIHS Top Safety Pick. Plus, since truck lovers tend to be wary of foreign-made pickups, Vehix testers quickly pointed out that the Toyota Tundra is in fact “the most American of all American-made trucks,” with 80 percent of the vehicle manufactured in the United States. Finally, Vehix testers took the funky, pint-sized crossover Toyota Venza for a spin and fell in love. Combining the benefits of a wagon with a sedan and a small crossover, the Toyota Venza has plenty of cargo space and ample passenger room. Plus, the optional all-wheel drive is perfect for cold-weather climates, and since it is an IIHS Top Safety Pick, drivers can take it just about anywhere with peace of mind.

Choosing a new truck should not be a task. However, with all of the engines, payloads, and trims available on modern trucks, it often feels like you need to be a truck expert to even understand the differences. Ford recognized this and developed their one-of-a-kind Ford F-150 Head to Head Pickup Comparison tool to make the truck buying processing not only easy but fun. Cherokee Ford, an Woodstock Ford dealership, is proud to announce that this comparison tool is now available to shoppers.
Using just four simple steps, the Ford Head to Head Comparison tool helps consumers choose the best Ford F-150 engine for their needs using a mix of technology and graphics. For example, the questionnaire starts by asking shoppers whether they will be using the truck for work or play, with a construction site as the work background and a mountaintop as the play background. The tool then asks users to indicate how much weight they will be hauling using a sliding scale; based on their answers items like grills, dirt bikes, and boulders are placed into the truck bed. The tool uses similar visualization technology for towing capacity.
Finally, the customer answers a series of questions fuel consumption and usage. Using this data, the Head to Head Comparison tool shows the recommended engine for that customer, along with Torture Test videos, other comparison information, and even social media sharing options for Facebook and Twitter.
“We found a way to bring F-150’s key advantages to life in a relevant and engaging manner that tells the customer a story,” said Raj Sarkar, F-150 Marketing manager. “No matter what kind of capability someone is looking for in their truck, they can find a combination that fits their needs and beats the competition.”
