Ourisman Chantilly Kia has racecars currently on our lot! Okay, not exactly… but almost!
Earlier this year, Kia Motors formed a partnership with Kinetic Motorsports and announced plans to race a 2012 Kia Rio 5-Door in the new Touring Car B-Spec category of the Pirelli World Challenge Championship Sports Car Wars 2012 racing season. The hatchback will race with the standard factory 1.6L engine rated at 138 horsepower.

Following in the tire tracks of the 5-Door, two Kia Optima SX cars also are slated to join the World Challenge. The Optima sedans will enter the GTS (Grand Touring Sport) category and feature a 2.0L GDI Turbo I4 engine which delivers 274 horsepower. The duo of Kia Optima SX cars will be the first Korean-made cars ever to complete in the series.
The Pirelli World Challenge racing season includes eight street races and is North America’s top production car-based series. Production cars are similar to stock cars though, unlike stock cars, they are only slightly modified for racing purposes. The series is sponsored by the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) which strictly limits Production car racing budgets. The more cost-efficient series opens up auto racing to a wider, more financially-conscious demographic of drivers and teams.
Virginia’s Ourisman Chantilly Kia will be excited to cheer on the Kia Rio and Kia Optima racecars, though driver names have yet to be announced. We invite all lead-foots from the Fairfax, Leesburg, Manassas and Chantilly area to come to Ourisman Kia to test drive a Rio or Optima from our lot. Maybe the next World-Challenge champion will be you!
For drivers who prefer adhering to the speed limit, Ourisman Chantilly Kia offers solid new and used car options of all makes and models. We are quite proud of our highly-rated “racecars” and encourage test drives of both the Rio and Optima.
Motortrend magazine tested the 2012 Kia Rio 5-Door, taking it from zero to 60 mph in 8.9 seconds (still within the speed limit), and says the hatchback successfully combines power, fuel economy, value and great looks. Road and Track calls the Rio 5-Door “zippy.”
The 2011 Kia Optima SX 4-door sedan is an Insurance Institute for Safety (IIHS) top pick and holds a 5-star Safety Rating at safercar.gov which is sponsored by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
Ford delivers what customers want. In 2011, more than a century after the car manufacturer’s incorporation, customers still want reliable transportation, but they want to reduce their carbon footprint as well.
Ford Motor Company leads as a provider of American-made, eco-friendly car options that, with each design, become more affordable and less environmentally damaging than previous models.

Ford introduced the first SUV hybrid to consumers with the Ford Escape 4X4 Hybrid. The hybrid was also the first to be American-made. In 2010, the popular Ford Fusion Hybrid was awarded “North American Car of the Year” by the Detroit Auto Show, was included in Car and Driver’s “10 Best Cars for 2010,” and also named Motor Trend’s “Car of the Year.” Thanks to new and better technology in the current model, the hybrid car continues to be a choice family-sized 4-door well into 2011.
The company’s concern for environmentally-friendly transportation precipitated a special alliance with the multimedia platform SHFT.
Hollywood actor Adrian Grenier, best-known for the HBO series Entourage, and independent film and TV producer Peter Glatzer launched the SHFT initiative in 2009. At SHFT.com, the project is described as, “…a mission to curate and position sustainably designed products and ideas and nudge them into mainstream culture.”
Celebrities are well-known for using their spot in the public eye as a platform for change, car-makers are not. But, improving the health of the environment is a mission Ford values just as much as their customers.
By joining SHFT, Ford encourages a shift in the world culture towards making environmental sustainability simply a part of everyday life for the general public. Contributors to SHFT.com touch on lifestyle issues like sustainable architecture, cooking with locally-grown produce, energy and, of course, art, music and film. The web magazine’s highlight of sustainable products and the people who create them give Ford an opportunity to make details about eco-friendly car options easier for more consumers to understand.
Ourisman Ford is proud to offer Virginia car buyers the EPA-rated 40 mpg (or higher) Ford Fusion Hybrid, Ford Fiesta and Ford Focus. The Lincoln MKZ Hybrid is also in-stock at Ourisman Ford and Lincoln of Alexandria, Va.

Consult your driver’s manual to determine when you should have the oil changed in your car. Our factory-trained service technicians are happy to advise you as well, especially if you will make lengthy road trips during the winter holidays. Before you start packing the car, take advantage of the Ourisman internet coupon for $5 off an oil change.
Are you ready to drive on ice and snow? Those tired-looking tires may need to be replaced before winter really kicks in. Come to the Ourisman Service Department and buy four new tires for only $10 over invoice. Tires from all manufacturers are eligible for this exclusive Ourisman of Alexandria deal. Ask us to show you the invoice.
If your car hasn’t had a check-up for a while, schedule a service inspection and let the Ourisman Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram factory-trained auto technicians look over the engine, brakes, drivetrain, suspension and steering components of any vehicle. Ourisman, a GMC Dealer Located in West Virginia, Suggests a 2012 GMC Terrain SUV with Intuitive Forward-Collision Alert System

We’ve all succumb to distracted driving. That’s why it’s the primary cause of car accidents worldwide. Now, for less than most car accident insurance deductibles, the 2012 GMC Terrain smaller SUV provides a first of its kind technology-driven accident prevention system designed to reduce crashes caused by distracted driving.
It doesn’t take anything more than a serious thought or an interesting billboard to pull your eyes off the road for a fraction of a second. And it doesn’t take more than a fraction of a second to be involved in an accident. The Forward-Collision Alert System offered on this GMC compact crossover SUV is an effective stopgap for that split-second of driver inattention.
At the heart of the Forward-Collision Alert System is a high-resolution digital camera discreetly mounted on the GMC Terrain’s windshield. The camera, which recognizes lane marking as well as other vehicles, feeds information to a digital display in the center of the dashboard. Green icons indicate that a car is ahead and also that the GMC Terrain itself is safely inside its own driving lane. Red icons indicate that the GMC Terrain is following a vehicle too closely. When the Forward-Collision Alert System’s algorithm determines a rear-end collision is imminent, the display flashes red and delivers an audible alert.
A practiced driver naturally would ask, “If a collision is imminent, isn’t it too late to prevent?” Not with the GMC Terrain SUV. Once the system delivers its collision warning, the vehicle’s brakes are “pre-charged” and ready for the final stop as soon as the driver’s foot hits the brake pedal.
This dual-benefit crash alert system also recognizes when the GMC Terrain drifts out of its lane or begins a turn before the turn signal has been initiated. In this instance, the dashboard icon flashes amber in color and delivers a different audible warning.
Safercar.gov gave both the all-wheel drive and four-wheel drive 2012 GMC Terrain SLT sport utility vehicles 4s and 5s (the highest rank being “5”) for crash test results. However, when drivers choose to include the $295 optional Forward-Collision Alert System, the chances of ever finding out how great those head and side air bag systems actually work is greatly reduced.

On Friday, November 4, golfers throughout Huntsville and the surrounding area will meet at the Links at Redstone for a chance to win some great prizes and support an amazing local charity, the Kids to Love Foundation. Among these prizes is the chance to win a new 2012 Cadillac donated by Bentley Automotive Group, a Kids to Love Golf Invitational sponsor. The new Cadillac will be awarded to the winner of the Hole-In-One contest.
Since 2004, the Kids to Love Foundation has directly impacted the lives of more than 100,000 foster children through its wide variety of outreach programs and the undying dedication of its founder, Lee Marshall, a former foster and adopted child herself.
“Anytime we can do anything for Kids to Love, we just love to partner up with Lee and the great things she’s done in the community,” said Tony Repucci, general manager of Bentley Automotive and long-time supporter of the Kids to Love Foundation.
In addition to supporting the overall goals of the foundation by raising essential funds, the First Annual Kids to Love Golf Invitational will support the foundation’s Christmas for the Kids program, which provides toys, clothes and other gifts to more than 2,000 area foster children. All Golf Invitational participants are encouraged to bring a gift to donate. The Kids to Love Foundation also offers programs such as the See Meth Stop Tip Line, School Supply Drive, Meth Orphans, and, of course, Finding Forever Families.
The First Annual Kids to Love Golf Tournament will begin at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start. Prizes will be awarded for longest drive (front and back), closest to pin (front and back) and for the Hole-In-One contest.
The National Automotive Sampling System estimates that rear collisions account for up to 28 percent of approximately 6 million police-reported incidents that occur annually. To avoid these and similar incidents, GMC has developed the industry’s first single-camera crash avoidance system. Prince GMC, a South Georgia GMC dealership, is proud to announce that this innovative crash avoidance system is available on 2012 GMC Terrain models.
“GM is committed to providing protection before, during and after a crash, but the best scenario is to avoid a collision in the first place, and this technology is designed to assist drivers for that purpose,” said Gay Kent, GM executive director of Vehicle Safety and Crashworthiness.
This camera-based collision alert system uses a high-resolution digital camera mounted on the windshield in front of the vehicle’s rearview mirror and forward collision warning software to ensure the safety of drivers and passengers. The system is programmed to recognize shapes of vehicles and lane markings. Using audible technology, the system warns drivers if they are following another vehicle too closely, when a collision is imminent, or if the driver departs a lane without signaling.
Additionally, the system uses color-coded warnings such as green “vehicle ahead” and “lanes detected” icons, red “forward collision alert” icons, and amber “lane departure warning icons” along with warning chimes. Furthermore, if a collision is deemed imminent, the vehicle’s brakes are pre-charged to help drivers brake as quickly and safely as possible.
This intuitive crash avoidance system is a major step forward in helping drivers maintain maximum safety not only for themselves but other drivers. It is also especially helpful in poor driving conditions such as night-time driving, snowy conditions, and rain.

Choosing a new truck should not be a task. However, with all of the engines, payloads, and trims available on modern trucks, it often feels like you need to be a truck expert to even understand the differences. Ford recognized this and developed their one-of-a-kind Ford F-150 Head to Head Pickup Comparison tool to make the truck buying processing not only easy but fun. Cherokee Ford, an Woodstock Ford dealership, is proud to announce that this comparison tool is now available to shoppers.
Using just four simple steps, the Ford Head to Head Comparison tool helps consumers choose the best Ford F-150 engine for their needs using a mix of technology and graphics. For example, the questionnaire starts by asking shoppers whether they will be using the truck for work or play, with a construction site as the work background and a mountaintop as the play background. The tool then asks users to indicate how much weight they will be hauling using a sliding scale; based on their answers items like grills, dirt bikes, and boulders are placed into the truck bed. The tool uses similar visualization technology for towing capacity.
Finally, the customer answers a series of questions fuel consumption and usage. Using this data, the Head to Head Comparison tool shows the recommended engine for that customer, along with Torture Test videos, other comparison information, and even social media sharing options for Facebook and Twitter.
“We found a way to bring F-150’s key advantages to life in a relevant and engaging manner that tells the customer a story,” said Raj Sarkar, F-150 Marketing manager. “No matter what kind of capability someone is looking for in their truck, they can find a combination that fits their needs and beats the competition.”
