Ourisman Ford of Virginia Keeps Eco Friendly Cars In-Stock
Ford delivers what customers want. In 2011, more than a century after the car manufacturer’s incorporation, customers still want reliable transportation, but they want to reduce their carbon footprint as well.

Ford introduced the first SUV hybrid to consumers with the Ford Escape 4X4 Hybrid. The hybrid was also the first to be American-made. In 2010, the popular Ford Fusion Hybrid was awarded “North American Car of the Year” by the Detroit Auto Show, was included in Car and Driver’s “10 Best Cars for 2010,” and also named Motor Trend’s “Car of the Year.” Thanks to new and better technology in the current model, the hybrid car continues to be a choice family-sized 4-door well into 2011.
The company’s concern for environmentally-friendly transportation precipitated a special alliance with the multimedia platform SHFT.
Hollywood actor Adrian Grenier, best-known for the HBO series Entourage, and independent film and TV producer Peter Glatzer launched the SHFT initiative in 2009. At SHFT.com, the project is described as, “…a mission to curate and position sustainably designed products and ideas and nudge them into mainstream culture.”
Celebrities are well-known for using their spot in the public eye as a platform for change, car-makers are not. But, improving the health of the environment is a mission Ford values just as much as their customers.
By joining SHFT, Ford encourages a shift in the world culture towards making environmental sustainability simply a part of everyday life for the general public.
