Copper Falls As Greenback Fires Amid Virus Issues, Auto Information, ET Auto

Copper prices fell on Monday as the dollar hovered near its highest level in months, making metals more expensive against the dollar and less attractive to holders of other currencies.

Due to the spread of the delta variant, new coronavirus infections have risen daily from the US and Europe to Asia, making investors nervous in view of the global economic recovery and sending money to safety.

Three-month copper on the London Metal Exchange fell 0.5% to $ 9,380 per ton by 0237 GMT, while the most traded August copper contract on the Shanghai Futures Exchange fell 0.6% to 68,770 yuan per ton.
