One start-up claims to have achieved a breakthrough in iron-air cell chemistry that could be used in economical grid storage or buffer functions – helping to overcome some of the logistical hurdles of placing more electric vehicles on the grid.

A project in Indiana could use dynamic wireless uploading on a section of the Interstate Highway, based on preliminary testing in collaboration with Purdue University and the state’s Department of Transportation.
