LausGroup CEO amongst six world Ford award winners

The PAMPANGA-based conglomerate LausGroup of Companies (LGC) added another laurel to its successes when the company’s managing director, Lisset Laus-Velasco, was honored as a dealer award winner at the “Salute to Dealers” 2021 of the American multinational automaker Ford Motor Company .

Laus-Velasco is one of the six winners of this prestigious global award from 80 nominees around the world and is the only woman this year selected for her business performance, ethics and community impact.

She is the only Ford International Markets Group recipient and the second female Ford dealer from the Philippines to receive this award.

LGC, which Laus-Velasco runs, operates Ford Pampanga, among others, from the city of San Fernando.

The award confirms Ford Pampanga’s and LGC’s commitment to outstanding products and services, as well as its community programs, all of which are designed to announce rural development in the Central Luzon region, as LGC founder Levy P. Laus has envisioned.

Guided by the company’s dedication to customer service and a passion for cars, Laus-Velasco has made Ford Pampanga and all LGC dealers successful while enabling its customers and employees to support Pampanga’s development.

“Progress is a central foundation of our business activity. But we don’t see progress as something to keep in our company, but as an opportunity to share with our community. We always strive to promote progress by providing our customers and employees with multiple sources of comfort, luxury, leisure and financial security. This award from Ford Global recognizes the efforts of everyone at LGC who have made inclusive progress their mission to do great work, ”said Laus-Velasco.

Promotion of education, health and sustainability

As CEO, Laus-Velasco has institutionalized corporate social responsibility programs for LGC, with education as the main anchor. The most recent initiative is to broadcast an educational television program for San Fernando’s children through to second graders on LGC’s own CLTV36.

The program called Alpha Basa is a Filipino reading program that aims to make young children fluent in Filipino reading through a game-based system with carefully designed flashcards and books.

In addition, LausGroup’s CLTV36 channel has become a platform to reach more students at home by broadcasting K-12 programs on TeleSkwela for all participating parents, teachers and students in Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Bulacan and Bataan become.

The Levy P. Laus Foundation has also stepped up its commitment to send and support deserving young Kapampangans to school amid the pandemic. Currently, over 2,000 LausGroup employees, in addition to the Foundation’s existing scholarship holders, receive annual access to educational loans to finance the education of their relatives.

LGC has also organized numerous nutrition programs to help feed children, as Laus-Velasco believes that health and education go hand in hand to provide economic mobility for young people. These feeding programs have been run in various locations in Pampanga, some in collaboration with Rise Against Hunger, a non-governmental organization that works to eradicate hunger by empowering communities.

The company also designs its sustainability strategy in recognition of the rapid environmental changes that are taking place around the world. LGC is currently investing in its Balik Baterya program in partnership with the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP). All replaced vehicle batteries from LGC dealers will be sent to auto battery dealer partners for recycling. The proceeds will then be donated to an organization that sees LGC in the education field.

Maintain community bonds in the future

“We have reached milestones in implementing our community programs, but we also admit that our work is still done for us. This recognition from Ford Global only reinforced the spark of our company in continuing to provide development and unparalleled quality of products and services to our stakeholders. The communities we serve can expect LGC to be a partner as we all face new challenges and achievements in the future, ”said Laus-Velasco.

The Salute to Dealers is a Ford Motor Company initiative honoring Ford dealers around the world who are committed to business integrity, exemplary products and services, and the enhancement of their respective communities.

Lisset Laus-Velasco will be joined by other award winners from Ford dealerships from the USA, China and Canada. (PR)
