M&M chief designer Ramkripa Ananthan pronounces Auto Information, ET Auto

Her resignation follows a major exodus of senior and middle managers who have left the company. Hindu Businessline and Business recently announced today that the Mahindra Group has laid off around 300 senior executives in the automotive and agricultural machinery divisions as part of a major restructuring.Ramkripa Ananthan has ended her more than two decades as head of design for the automotive sector at Mahindra & Mahindra, the company informed its employees in a statement.

“We are sorry to announce that Kripa, Chief of Design AFS, has decided to explore opportunities outside the Mahindra Group. At our request, she agreed to be with us until November 2021, ”said the announcement signed by Rajeshwar Tripathi, Chief of People Officer.

The resignation came shortly after automotive designer Pratap Bose joined the Mahindra Group to head the newly established Mahindra Advanced Design Europe (MADE) Center in the West Midlands, UK. Until recently, Bose was Vice President, Design at Tata Motors.

Ramkripa, a graduate of IDC, IIT-B, and Mechanical Engineering from BITS, led Pilani for Mahindra TUV 300, XUV 500, KUV 100, TUV300 SUVs, and Marazzo MPV design. She was part of the team that helped create the bolero and the scorpion.

In April 2021, VS Parthasarathy, President of Mobility Services Sector and member of the Executive Committee, ended his more than two decades long collaboration with the SUV manufacturer.
