Nissan continues to innovate with the introduction of the newest NIM applied sciences within the Center East

Nissan Middle East has enhanced its model lineup with a number of security and connectivity features to accommodate the evolving needs and wants of its customers. With the expansion of its range of driver assistance and convenience functions, Nissan Intelligent Mobility (NIM) is fulfilling its promise of safer and more connected travel.

By combining the three pillars of Intelligent Driving, Intelligent Power and Intelligent Integration, ongoing innovation at NIM plays a critical role in helping the brand achieve its goal of virtually zero deaths in Nissan vehicles around the world.

The ultimate expression of Nissan Intelligent Mobility and autonomous driving is evident in the new Nissan Ariya, which will debut in the Middle East at Expo 2020 Dubai. As a bold showcase of technology and innovation, the Ariya will demonstrate the brand’s true capabilities in terms of intelligent power, intelligent driving and intelligent integration.

The latest addition to the NIM suite – the ProPILOT premiered in the region on the 2021 Nissan Altima, revolutionizing the driving experience and providing customers with added security and peace of mind. By combining Nissan’s Intelligent Cruise Control system with steering assistance technologies, ProPILOT makes driving easy and stress-free by automatically increasing or decreasing vehicle speed to maintain a set distance from the vehicle in front. In conjunction with Lane Keeping Assist – a function that uses a front-facing camera to keep the vehicle in the center of the lane, and a stop-and-hold function, the ProPILOT is the ideal companion for any driver.

Abdulilah Wazni, Marketing Director, Nissan Middle East said: “We have continuously expanded our NIM suite to provide our customers with a safer, more comfortable and more enjoyable driving experience. ProPILOT, one of the unique technologies in the segment, is changing the way we drive and giving us an insight into the world of autonomous driving. All of NIM’s capabilities and how it reforms the driving experience will be embodied in the Ariya, which will be Nissan’s showcase of the future of mobility at Expo 2020 Dubai. “

With drivers, passengers and other road users in mind, Nissan’s Intelligent Mobility (NIM) offerings are in line with global automotive consumer research, in which respondents rank safety as the most important factor when considering their next vehicle purchase.

NIM provides complete protection and works in three phases – monitoring, recovery and protection – by shielding occupants before, during and after a possible impact. The Intelligent Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection is one such feature that gives drivers a 360 degree bird’s eye view and warns them of moving objects to avoid or mitigate collisions with pedestrians and / or cyclists.

In terms of recovery and protection, features like automatic emergency braking use a sensor on the front of the vehicle to detect pedestrians and other vehicles. Should the driver not be able to react in time, the system brakes automatically in order to avoid collisions or to reduce them significantly.

The seamless smartphone integration in the form of Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto ™ connectivity can be found in almost all Nissan models and enables the driver to connect his phone to the vehicle’s infotainment screen. This in turn enables them to play music, keep an eye on their social network, and safely navigate the city – all without the risk and distraction of using a cell phone while driving.

Nissan Intelligent Mobility (NIM) improves the safety of its users and their surroundings by providing drivers with a newer, safer and more confident way to drive. Available across the entire Nissan range in the Middle East, including the iconic Nissan Patrol as well as KICKS, X-Terra, Altima, Sunny and X-TRAIL, NIM technologies connect drivers to their cars and other road users like never before.
