Tesla chargers for electrical vehicles are coming to Stevens Level

STEVENS POINT, Wisconsin (WAOW) – Stevens Point will add two Tesla EV charging stations near downtown later this year.

The chargers will be in Lot Seven next to Ruby Coffee in downtown, and while they’re specifically designed for Teslas, they’ll work with an adapter for other vehicles.

Both chargers came from a donation from the Wisconsin Tesla Owners Group as a thank you after the city hosted its auto show.

The organization said the community was so hospitable that they decided to donate a second charger. Stevens Point Mayor Mike Wiza said the donations were a reflection of the community.

“Stevens Point was, at least in my memory, always very welcoming, very open. And that’s what makes our community great because we’re open to these new ideas, ”said Wiza.

Final approval has been given and they will be installed before the end of the year.
