Tucson Hybrid MPG Report, Minnesota EV Mandate, Biden Emissions Requirements: At present’s Automobile Information

Minnesota’s EV mandate could change the equation around “compliance car” plug-ins that automakers only sell in some of the New Biden vehicle efficiency administration regulations that are on the way. And we look at the 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid gas mileage. This and more here at Green Car Reports.

The Biden administration’s proposed fuel economy and emissions rules could be released as early as next week, according to a report that underscores that while these new rules will catch up with Obama-era rules initially, they will surpass them by 2030 – and a potential one Goal for 40% include electric vehicles.

Efforts to derail or delay Minnesota’s rollout of California’s Clean Cars program – and its EV mandate – have failed, and the state will be the first in the Midwest to adopt the standards. This makes it increasingly difficult for automakers to only manufacture plug-in “compliance cars” that can earn them enough credit.

Will the 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid deliver its EPA rating of up to 38 mpg in real driving conditions? We took one on a long highway trip and a short city trip to find out.

And over at The Car Connection: The Toyota Prius will be taken over largely unchanged for 2022 – although this hybrid icon retains the blackened look of last year’s 2020 edition in a Prius Nightshade.
